I getting the same problem since I upgraded from dapper to edgy. On my
UK keyboard the wrong keys are:
i-.
s-u
r-t
,-x
#-`
and the keys with shift pressed map to the same wrong key
(apart from shifted# is correct as ~)

R-T
S-U
-X
I downgraded to the dapper dosemu packages and the same

The scaling governor in use is ondemand, but it doesn't change the cpu
working frequency; maybe this is the real bug.
If I run powernowd, the governor switches to userspace and it changes
frequency.

Yesterday I try to figure out why it happens.
If I change View - Message Body As - Simple HTML(or Plain Text) everything
works fine, just black and white. I used Original HTML and how I understand
Thunderbird try to show colors or some specific HTML code and it cause crash.

I see this as well. There are other visual glitches lately in the terminal, but
as it has not changed in quite some time X or other packages may be causing it.

~/.fonts.conf will be chaged if you login KDE, for qt use different font
rendering mechanism, so its useless to have such a configure. :)

After installing mathdesign with the md-ch fonts manually, everything
works fine. Anybody has an idea why mathdesign is not included in the
distribution?

time gnome-terminal -e exit
is ok for checking if there is a difference in startup times before and
after /etc/hosts modification. The startup time alone does not tell
anything useful even if there is a clear difference, so the strace log
should be attached from the slow startup case.

I'm on Xubuntu, and want to install Compiz. However, compiz in Ubuntu
uses metacity. If you, like me, want to install compiz-core then you are
left out without a window manager, shouldn't gtk-window-decorator be
available?
