I've encountered the same bug. However I've been running Ubuntu (Kubuntu
more specifically) since Dapper and have not had this problem. This bug
just came up around a week ago in Fiesty.
The thing is it happens completely randomly. I'll be doing something on

Using the linbss_ldap-2.4 does allow you to auth on feisty .. but seg
faults on pretty much everything after that .. so obviously this is not
a desirable fix.

I am also unable to associated with a WEP passphrase secured network (with
updates from circa 13/04) with the network manager.
The machine is an IBM X21 with using the bcm43xx driver on a Belkin pcmcia
card. This applies both in the automatic and managed modes. There is no problem

2.6.20-15
As I mentioned earlier, if I'm booting with kernel 2.6.20-9 I do not
have the problem.
