I also got this problem with feisty. Before fesity this pc was with

I've downloaded and installed the Vista audio drivers
(http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67218)
rebooted Vista and the sound worked again.
I then shutdown the PC and booted Ubuntu Feisty and e presto the sound
in Ubuntu worked from the start.
I am still unsure ab

(1) changing menu.lst --> with the Ubuntu menu.lst i can normal booting Ubuntu
