It appears that the latest linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 package does
not include the vmware player kernel modules anymore. It used to be part
of linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 for example and I can't find any
mentioning of an alternative location in the changelog.

Yes, it is so long ago I have forgottn the original issue and whether it
is fixed but yes I use Feisty, although with another machine I use
Mandriva as it has less trouble with the broadcomm driver therein. On
the Feisty side I feel it is still weak on networking and printer
drivers.
