In Gutsy Beta 1, I am seeing this problem again with VMware Fusion 1.0 and
1.1b1. In particular, what is happening is that in addition to the vmmouse
driver not being used by default, it isn't even *included* on the beta 1 cd.
Thus, I had to download it from the repository and manually edit the

I am having the same error with 7.10 Beta Desktop CD (amd64 version)
When booting from the Desktop CD, after i choose the first option in the boot
menu,
it shows the ubuntu logo and the loading bar, and after a while it would show
the famous busybox console with "can't access tty" message.

how do I know which log to attach though, like I have Xorg.0.log.old and
Xorg.9.log.old? Assuming this is the correct one because of when it was

Almost the same here, switching back to .12 kernel gets wireless back up
and mostly sane video... stuck at 1024x768 rather than 1440x900 but much

available updates 20 minutes ago, and on reboot all I could see was a

A temporary solution
After install, the default resolution would work. I personally would
like it to be most conservative before that if it can't be detected
right. So, default to 640x480 maybe.

Hello.
I'm dvorak layout user on GNOME. And I'm using SCIM to type East Asian
languages.
In default setting, SCIM doesn't works rightly on dvorak layout.
To use SCIM on dvorak layout, I should open 'SCIM Input Method Setup' window,
and change Keybroad layout setting to Dvora

Hi, I tried the git xserver-xorg-video-intel package, and I can also confirm
that DRI is not working with this package. Here is the error:
libGL error: drmMap of framebuffer failed (Invalid argument)
libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering
Perhaps Ubuntu's libdrm or drm kernel modules
With the latest updates in gutsy this problem seems to be gone for me. I
just did a dist-upgrade and nearly didn't notice it, my laptop just
worked without lagging much.
I'm hooked :)

I ran strace and let it sit for a couple hours. When it's locked up I
can't ssh in and any open connections time out. However it looks like I
had a different issue, down near the bottom of the log (where it had
never got to before), it gave me a warning about using the AGPFastWrite
option. I've now
cecilia has reappeared on amd64 with the upload of
cecilia_2.0.5-2ubuntu2, and needs to again be removed. A
cecilia_2.0.5-2ubuntu3 has been uploaded with a reduced architecture set
(matching csound's) to ensure this isn't repeated.

It does sound easiest to just create a sources.list if it doesn't exist,
instead of bothering with sources.list.d. I don't know of any problems
which would arise from this.
