Same problem, my XP partition was not recognized during install of the

Ok, I'm in midterms right now, but as soon as I have some time I will

simple test is to try adding garbage text (ie. asdf asdf...) to the

I thought I might add that an acceptable fix might possibly be to make
it so that changing the desktop path in KDE doesn't effect Gnome. It
didn't effect Gnome for me in any previous version of Ubuntu.

Sorry to speculate, but it kind of looks like the xserver-xorg-video-
intel and the kernel versions are chasing each other in a circle over
how to allocate some resource.

right, but the card driver fails to drive some modes or fails to disable
modes it cannot drive.
