After upgrading to gutsy (in september) the snd-hda-driver started to
misbehave.
Now I have on up-to-date gutsy on Lenovo T60 and I have to always
modprobe (and modprobe -r) the driver at least twice before it works.
And the first modprobe takes more than 10 seconds. After a couple of

Same for me. On my Samsung X20 suspend to RAM was broken anyhow, but I
was able to fix it by compiling a custom kernel. All solutions mentioned
above didn't work for me. I just prevent the nm-applet to run and
everything is O.K. I just select my network configuration manually.

keyboard layout in SCIM has this bug, except some Latin alphabet based input
system.
So I expect this bug will block to use Kubuntu with dvorak layout toward many
people worldwide.

I think that there should be an option to not have them hide when
clicking on the desktop. I have never liked this behavior. I'm using

This happened to me too - it seemed that I lost a processor during the
upgrade to Gutsy, when in fact I just had to rearrange the new menu.lst
to default to "generic" instead of "386". I didn't notice the problem
until one of my applications (Java) reported it to me.

Starting on 10/31/07 every update i have gotten or any program I have
tried to install I get the following error. Couldn't install some
packages. Either some packages wern't downloaded correctly or it could
break some packages, but after I get that
I can confirm the excessive logging on a Samsung X20 running Feisty.
On battery power a battery event gets logged to /var/log/acpid every 30-40s.
Disabling the logging with -l /dev/null in /etc/default/acpid gets rid of that.

Hi, I have perhaps a variation of this problem.
I have a Dell laptop with a broken monitor, so I use it as a desktop with an
external monitor.
It has an ATI Radeon Mobility card in it. I see this problem since I upgraded
to Gutsy, but also when I run both the Ubuntu as well as Kubuntu live-CDs.

I also can confirm this in gutsy. I downgraded qemu to the feisty
version because of a qemu bug. Afterr downgrading qemu, I did "aptitude
forbid-version qemu=0.9.0-2ubuntu4" to prevent it from upgrading. This
works for aptitude in a terminal .. it successfully skips it. Also,
adept manager skip

I backed to using home user back up to a usb device before instaling
Gusty 7.10. I re-downloaded hubackup and the restore option doesn't
even come up on the desktop to use. It is in the system/administration
menue though.

Re-opening, I've got a similar problem, and I can't see the similarity

As I've said a few times, Qt is not linking to the library, it is
opening it dynamically at runtime. You don't even need to have
libssl.so, .a or anything else installed when you compile Qt, you only
need the headers.
