I was able to detect the problem.
It was related a entry in the appeared on /etc/apt/sources.list this
entry was pointing to a location that was not working (third party
software). Once I removed it the line and the package that was
associated to it it worked fine.

Note also that in Gutsy the HP LaserJet 1000, 1018, and 1020 do not work
with HPIJS or HPLIP. They only work with foo2zjs and foo2zjs ships
appropriate PPD files. If you edit any file of HPIJS listing these

I first open Kate, then type some text, anything will do, just something

As for XawTV, the video does not come out. There is only a black screen and the

I tried the old working BIOS + 2.6.24 , that issues doesn't come up.
I flashed my BIOS with the newest version 9.27.2005
After I logged in dumped a number of logs and
then i opened Pidgin and Rhythmbox and my system fully locked up.
