3.0~alpha8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 is not affected. Both settings of
MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO bottom out at 2.6 seconds with quite a bit variation upwards.
Firefox 2.0.0.11 is 3.7/1.8 seconds and Swiftfox is 1.4 seconds at the moment.

Yes, if you want to get this changes included in Ubuntu you should make
a patch (a debdiff) and attach it here. However, (I'm speaking mostly
for the .desktop file), it would be nice to have the change included at

Apparently sqlite locking will work correctly on nfsv4 systems.

impossible to use the auditd package. So, Mathais Gug marked this
auditd bug as invalid, since the auditd package is really not
responsible for the problems we encountered.

As a workaround for this bug, one can configure knetworkmanager to save
the wireless key in kwallet, and than set a blank password for kwallet.

The nvidia driver is unable to load on a full clean 7.10 install.
I've tried both the 2.6.20 kernel and the 2.6.22 kernel in 7.10 after a clean
7.10 install and after a clean 7.04 to 7.10 upgrade.
Loading the driver does work perfectly
Approved for gutsy-proposed. Please get it fixed in Hardy and upload to
gutsy-proposed afterwards.

Another try after a fresh install of Feisty.
1. comment the blacklist vesafb (but leave uncommented every others) line in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer
2. add fbcon and vesafb in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules
3. add the vga=xxx in your boot list
4. update-initramfs -v -u -k $(uname -r)

Martin, I installed the -proposed versions of Avahi on 05/01/2008 and
they did not fix the problem. If there have been Avahi updates since, I
have installed them by default but didn't notice them. See my post above
09/01/2008. I still don't know why everything started suddenly to work,

What do you mean by screen initramfs ? Could you write down the complete
error message as you see it on the screen, please ?
initramfs is a proper Ubuntu component used during startup, not an error
message.

No, I do not think it's related to the driver. It happens to me with
ndiswrapper/atheros too, although I have to say that it's much more rare
now after the upgrade of NM.
