I just tried it on hardy alpha 5 kde4 i386 disk. There is still the same
behavior.
I resized the only partition from 30 gb to 10 gb in the manual disk setup step.
During the file system check I selected skip. The progress dialog is closed and
no new one for the resizing process is open

Occasionally will happen at the login screen (before much of anything is

Ok I've got a Definite fix for my situation... I could not successfully
install using a fullscreen video mode:
Originally had YDL 6, felt it was inferior to Xubuntu, got rid of it by

I attached the Debian bug report on this issue.
That proposes an alternative solution, call
sensible-editor, however Michael wasn't too
keen on that, as it would give a useless terminal

I am having exactly the same problem with Fujitsu t2010, which has a
Synaptics trackpoint. The device gets detected as "PS/2 Generic Mouse".

Could you please try mounting from the command line
to see if this is a problem with nautilus or lower
down the stack?
Firstly check that the floppy module is loaded by running
lsmod | grep floppy
then edit /etc/fstab and add a line at the end that says
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 vfat rw,us
Can you install kwin-kde4 and systemsettings-kde4 and see if kwin has
the same problem? Run `/usr/lib/kde4/bin/kwin --replace' to start kwin4
then run `/usr/lib/kde4/bin/systemsettings`, go into the Desktop
options, and enable effects. In the advanced options make sure it is
using OpenGL texture_fr
