work, but I tried once without any editing of xorg.conf and once while

I followed the instructions you sent and have attached the file that
resulted. I did install the dvgrab-dbgsym package though you wouldn't

Maybe ssb is being loaded from the initrd, which has its own modprobe
configuration (copied in from /etc/modprobe.d by update-initramfs). So, you’d
need to do something like this.
* In /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper, add
alias pci:v14E4d4328sv*sd*bc*sc*i* ndiswrapper
install ssb /sbin/m

Thanks for taking time to report that bug. Most probably that since you
changed your graphic card, the configuration of the /etc/usplash.conf
file is not correct. In order to see if this is really your case, can
you follow these steps and confirm if it fixed your problem?
1. Go to your System / Ad
i added "export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1" instead of the sed'ing.
( There will be error-messages from the jvm, but the plugin / java will work )

The Hardy Heron Alpha series was recently released which contains an
updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy
Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ .
You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you
