I don't think I understand what you are talking about. If you underline
something and then want to not underline it you have to highlight and
turn off underlining for that bit. So what exactly are you trying to do
that doesn't work properly? I am confused.

Turn off autospellcheck and/or fix the spelling of the word then it will
show you the context menu for the list. It also won't let you copy
mispelled words, etc if autospellcheck is on and you are trying to work
on a mispelled word.
