In my case, I believe the problem is that my motherboard is so old (a
FIC-6110), that although Ubuntu sees it as ACPI compatible, it really isn't.
Other problems I've had are probably also due to this old motherboard, which I
plan to replace.

I don't really think that's a fair criticism, Tanner, given that the
original bug post notes that there was an extant upstream patch -- an
upstream version that the Ubuntu roadmap had already committed to

I can't determine how to make it let me even insert a secondary x or y
axis, when I tried insert axes it showed them grayed out (not
selectable). Can you walk me through the steps on how to make it let me

I managed to "fix" this one by doing the following (as root or with
sudo):
# dpkg -l | grep cups
remove all of the above listed packages with:
# dpkg --purge
then reinstalling cups:
# apt-get install cups
I think one of the packages I had installed (cupsys-hal perhaps) was
causing problems.

2.6.24-12-generic still does not work for me. I get a blank screen after the
progress bar. When I tried the recovery menu, text on the root console
disappear. I only get a blinking cursor. I typed gdm (without actually seeing
it on the screen), i get "failure to initialilze HAL" when I log on.

not sure when firefox 3 beta 4 will be added but i'm sure that a later
version that beta 3 will be included with the final release. The final
release should have the final version of firefox 3 otherwise it would be
a bit weird having unfinished software in a final release.

I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy
openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released.

Confirmed. Having sticky key, always "w" after playing css in wine as
well as perfect world also in wine, problem happens after playing for a
few seconds. Have the same problem using different keyboards. After
exiting wine problem persists until reboot.

Same problem here on 64 bit 7.10, Brother HL-5150D_series, quite
frustrating though as this did *not* fail until a recent update and some
hal/dbus updates I saw. Perhaps the problem was fixed and now
