The same here on freshly installed Hardy 8.04 final. Automatic mount of EXT3
partitions on my USB drive works, mounting the FAT32 on the same disk gives the
error above. Also the FAT32 partition on my USB keydrive can not be mounted.

I had this same issue with my Dell Latitude D820 after upgrading from
gutsy to hardy. It did affect all my pointer devices (taping the touch
pad, mouse buttons next to the touch pad and USB mouse)
Andrew Oakley's xorg conf did fix the problem for me.

On my notebook HP 530 using backport kill my kill switch, without

I added the rt kernel as Jim March suggested, and it seems to have
worked for me. I haven't been able to see this kernel lockup. I may have

Despite the commit message above, network-manager-kde still does not depend on
knetworkconf:

That switches the ENTIRE JVM into interpreted mode. Not really a smart
idea. It's better to just disable the function causing the crash.

I've reviewed but 178504 and the gravelly or staticy description is
exactly what I have. I also noted the comment about generated sounds
being fine and realized that this is true for me too. Any other sounds
are severely distorted and no amount of volume adjustments fixes this.
Having said that,
I confirm the problem. Upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy and quality of fonts
in Mathematica (6.0.1) degraded considerably. I use compiz, and the
problem is there with or without it. I've also noticed that fonts on
Firefox and Adobe have somewhat changed. Sounds like something global
that changed with

Tried the same on my Athlon 1600+ desktop system and the stick mounted
without problems.
On my Acer Travelmate C111 with Intel ULV the above error occured. Both
are freshly installed with Hardy 8.04 final yesterday and had no
problems on Gutsy.
