because the configure script then says that it can't make config.status.
Maybe this has especially to do with line 25410. Somebody should have a

I have a bugnot sure if it is the same thingbut when switching hacks
my x-server restarts ever since i installed the nvidia drivers.

Yes, this slipped from bug #219346 since we only checked for libraries in site
and site-packages. rkward has a library there which is unfortunately a mostly
empty dummy one (see bug #224480).

Then it is definitely a bug of our Samba package, reopening.
This is most probably not an upstream bug of Samba, though, as Milosz
Derezynski tells on the ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list that if he
installs Samba compiled from source (version 3.0.28a) CUPS does not
crash.

I uploaded this fix to the ppa of the ubuntu-quickfix team, which is an
open team that, in my mind, should prepare simple fixes to be tested
aganst the current distribution, that do not seem to harm, while
waiting for them to be taken into account by the main distribution
developers. Any launchpad
count me in.
