8 minutes is the fastest I've seen posted. How reproducible is that?
I can easily beat that. For one, I've brand new to Linux. I've tried
7.10 and now 8.04. Both locked up with the standard install. And I'm
talking before it was even at the point of picking which hard drive to
install it on.

I newbie at linux. Has the same problem mention in the postings. The
snd-hda-intel-ko appears to be installed in my Linux installation but
with this name: snd-hda-intel.ko.REPLACEDBYhsfmodem. This is why sudo

Problem arose after update to Hardy.
I can access (edit and save) and move files, and create folders on the
mapped drives - but cannot copy files from my laptop for example.
Downgraded to a previous version of ncpfs (2.2.6-3) but that did not

I had the same problem, BUT there is a solution...
1. Install libqca2-plugin-gnupg and libqca2-plugin-ossl
2. Restart Psi
3. Select your key in the Psi account properties
4. Restart Psi
5. Done.
The problem is/was the change of the crypto architecture to QCA2.

well, you can check and see what your font size for firefox is - that's
found in Edit - Preferences - Content tab. You might have messed up the
font size. I haven't had any problems with firefox 3.0b5 causing the
bizzare font issues on my system.

I've looked at the xul patches shipped in songbird sources, some are
IMHO problematic in a shared xulrunner SDK like we have in Ubuntu.
- bugCrashReporterStrings.patch: it hardcodes 'Songbird' as Vendor for

The stats package is a part of a basic R installation. It seems to be
included in r-base-core (so, please ignore my comment about

I had the same problem in Ubuntu 8.04, try this: In smb.conf add these
lines into [Global] configuration (don't forgot make backup of
smb.conf):
client ntlmv2 auth = no
client lanman auth = yes
client plaintext auth = yes
Then restart samba with sudo /etc/init.d/samba restart. That
inkex.py is supplied with Inkscape, in the extensions directory (on
Ubuntu I think that's /usr/share/inkscape/extensions). You either need
to put eqtexsvg.py in that directory (replacing the original), or copy
inkex.py into ~/.inkscape/extensions.

Sorry, I was wrong.
I was fixed only the volume applet issue.
Changing volume with mouse wheel in volume applet on the right upper corner
works nice now.
But there is still the problem with keyboard shortcut keys.
I can't see orange volume bar sliding when I'm changing volume with shortcut

The script in /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/90clock tries to restart the NTP
daemon on resume.
This is a good Idea but cannot work in this script because it tries to
restart ntpd instead of ntp (without 'd')

After I helped my brother from switching to Ubuntu from OpenSuSE because
his wireless driver does work in 2.6.24, but not in 2.6.22, I discovered
that the 2.6.24 introduced a new bug to his laptop. Now his computer
freezes after it has been up for a while. This can be solved
