When I attempt to do an File -> Open and enter a valid URL OO writer is
ignoring the protocol and always attempting to open the file via the
file system.
To repeat:
1) Go to the File -> Open dialog
2) Enter any valid URL - i.e. http://www.
Note there is now a improved version of Compcache available, "better
than compcache-0.3 in terms of space efficiency, speed and also has lot
of cleanups". However this new version of compcache is a kernel patch
rather than a module.

I am working on a project and I am using grep command very frequently
and found an interesting problem in it. For a particular path and if I
grep some particular word and redirect the output to a file then it
usually go into a loop and I have to find appropriate filename

I agree that this can be a problem for people, esp. those not familiar
with TTYs. I will Confirm this bug and add it to Wishlist. Thank you
for taking the time to report this - hopefully it can make it in time
for Intrepid.

the site i was trying to view was https://jobs3.netmedia1.com. Which is
divert from IBM site. When i hit the tab i was not able to see any
change in the tab. But when I move my mouse over/try to select content
on that tab, the site comes in vi
I would like to point out that an alpha release is not complete and will
contain bugs. Even more so this early in the development.
If you want help in trying to solve the issue, however. A lot more
information will need to be provided regarding your hardware.

I had this same problem and found the issue to be with PolicyKit group
settings. Common thread here seems to be -
1. Ensure /etc/hosts file is correct
2. Ensure appropriate users are added to the "polkituser" group in /etc/group

When you say falls, what exactly do you mean?
Is just on the hotmail site, with that particular account?
Have you tried clearing the cache, making sure JavaScript is enabled,
and such things?
Please provide us with detailed steps to recreate the problem.

I can confirm this problem on my EeePC. A little more detail though. I
installed Ubuntu 8.04 with an external USB mouse attached. When booting
the laptop without a USB mouse I can use the trackpad in the login
screen, but when I login as the user created upon first installation it

What version of Audacity are you running? 1.3.4-beta has no such issues
for myself.
Please provide a more detailed description of the issue, with as much
detail as possible regarding version numbers of Audacity and also any
flac libraries you have installed.
