As a workaround I've found that bookmarking the samba share in nautilus and
then selecting this bookmark from gedit's open file dialog (i.e.
File-Open...(Left hand side of dialog under places)), then accessing the
file seems to work the best.

hey no problem, i figured it out.
I did following.. dunno which step(s) did it
1. sudo chmod 777 /etc/gdm/gdm.conf
2. sudo chmod 777 /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom
3. tried to save gdm setings from login window - no luck yet
4. then I opened gdm.conf-custom in gedit and wrote some random chars and saved

I am using a Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop. When I resume form the suspend
state Knetwork Manager doesn't reconnect immediately. Initially it can
find no wireless networks. However, after about a minute it comes back
to life

Log after boot attached
