I just checked the debug info and the code, and I cannot really make

For the record, current intrepid jockey explicitly disables fglrx, since
it is doomed to fail, and update-manager transitions user to ati on
upgrade.
As soon as we get a fixed fglrx driver from AMD and SRU it to intprepid,
we should remove the jockey ban of fglrx along with it.

I have the same problem with the mouse stopping to work after a variable
amount of time from boot-up. The problem persists in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy
Heron. A workaround for this problem is to boot-up with irqpoll as
kernel boot parameter (it works for me).

Hi NJ, I unduped this since I wanted to close the other one, which was resolved
for the original reporter and got a bit long anyway. To summarize what I took
from the other bug:

I also imported your test.ics into evolution, and it displays the
correct dates (switch on October 26) for both Europe/Berlin and
Europe/Brussels on Intrepid.
Earlier versions of Evolution had severe problems with time zones, maybe
this is yet another bug that was fixed in the Intrepid version?

problem is related to running out of file descriptors. In others (mine,
for example) it's due to the automounter timing out the users's home
directory, rendering .Xauthority unreachable.

I tried your first suggestion and as expected it did not work. After
pressing enter the screen read '[sudo] password for nutzer:'. I typed in
my login password and enter and the screen read: '* Starting GNOME
Display Manager...[ OK ]' followed by the next line:

I have also had freezing of the system lately. The only way out is to turn the
computer off and start over. I am using Hardy and have been updating the system
immediately there are new updates.
The freezing does not seem to be related to any particular process or program
as I have had it freeze
