Very bad news.
The two persons for who I installed kmail 4 just let me know that they
received zombi emails and even worse, after they rebuilt the index those
emails were gone.
I cannot rely on kmail anymore. I have to find a way to migrate to

Yes I can reproduce this behaviour.
The problem seems to be that NM still thinks that the old SSID exists.
If I click on the applet after changing location I see the SSIDs of the
wireless networks at my home AND the SSIDs of the networks at my
workplace. The old SSIDs disappear after some time.
I have same problem with two machines, my desktop pc and my laptop.

Yes. I try toshiba 7200 pentium 3 coppermind and toshibba portege m100
Centrino and regularly update the system. And ubunty same version doesn't
work on my Toshiba p-3, but works on M-1oo Centrino.

I too had this problem for several weeks. It has now gone away. When it
happened to me I would:
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
This would enable networking until next reboot. Is this a similar

If this bug does not get fixed by release, will it at minimum get into
the release notes under known issues, something like:
Ubuntu takes about 5 minutes to shutdown on some systems because of an
error in the network manager. This problem will be fixed after release.
A temporary workaround is
I believe no one who works with linux could answer your question. Try
and error is the only way.
But if some got a list from Dell which Laptop uses which variant this
could be used in conjunction with dmidecode:
sudo dmidecode systeminfo
The new file systeminfo shows many things and

When two users are logged into my computer and the first logged in user
does not connect to the network the second cannot do anything to connect
to the network
