entirely by Ubuntu (and Debian). If you can get a working patch, then

While the first time I logged in I had options other than Log Out and
Switch User, those days are gone. :P I can still run pm-suspend and
pm-hibernate, although last time I ran pm-suspend the system suspended
and then immediately woke up (which it did successfully, however.)

FWIW, I have this exact same problem using VMWare Workstation with this setup:
host = Ubuntu 8.10
guest= Ubuntu 8.04
VMWare Workstation version = 6.5.0 build-118166
In this setup, UpArrow triggers 'save screenshot' (in the guest),
RightControl types out "^[[6~", PageDown triggers context men
I have a similar issue. Laptop speakers are muted when I plug in
headphones, however:

Resume just hang with Jaunty.
1) Suspend ok
2) Resume starts to work, there's the unlocking (username,password) widget on
the screen but no text inside it. Mourse cursor moves for awhile (~1min) but
then it also freezes. Hard-drive light shows some activity. Magic keys
(Alt-SysRd-REISUB) do not
This still occurs in 8.10. Interestingly Konqueror can only display the
man-page if manpages-dev is installed.
So it looks for me like a parsing error or something similar. There is only the
string ", FILE *" missing in the middle.

Just to make sure everyone is clear. The Twinview option is only viable
to those with 2 or less monitors. Twinview does not functionally support
3 or more monitors, so this is still an issue for anyone that is
required to use xinerama for this reason.

Same for me, "Local Port 1" solved my vpnc problem.
Maybe this Bug can handle providing this option as part of
Networkmanager-vpn? I could not find any way of adding this flag there
right now, so am stuck with commandline for now.

I was using Synaptic Pkg Mgr to install Apache2, PHP5, MySQL5, Samba,
and WU-FTPd. WU-FTPd was the last package to be installed, and it just
hung in the Terminal window--so I hit Ctrl + C to stop the installation.
This occurred on a fresh installa

worse. But I used packages from jaunty, because I couldn't download them

I have just found that you get a the same message on the bash cli when
trying to delete lots of files from the samsung T10.

In addition to the aforementioned BusID directive, I needed to add:

This overcame the "more than one possible primary device found" issue
when loading X under the Intrepid Ibex installer.
