If it is indeed a BIOS bug, why wasn't it present in the last version of
Ubuntu? My BIOS certainly has not changed. It also doesn't explain why
one filesystem was affected and one wasn't. The driver most likely ha
changed. So why is it a BIOS bug if it worked fine before?

I have a similar problem with the very first window I plot. The graphic
windows freezes after plotting any graphics, like
plot sin(x)
After showing the graphic, the graphic window doesn't update if you move
another window in front of it. If you type a gnuplot command that

It also happens to me on Ubuntu Intrepid. I am using the auto-login
option, which has shown to be problematic in past versions of Ubuntu. If
I log-out and login again, I sometimes see 2 gnome-power-manager applets
in the upper right-hand side panel.

I see the same symptom on my x86_64 systems.
Hardy was not lightning fast, but workable. After upgrading to Intrepid however
things have become unworkable. E.g. Nautilus (List View 50%) takes 35 seconds
to open /usr/lib, from there 17 seconds to open vmware, and from there 50
seconds to go up to

When trying to connect to a not yet configured network, NM asks for the
certificates etc.
In the bottom right corner of the Window is the confirmation button, which will
save the information provided and try to connect to the network, in German it's
called "Verbinden", so "Connect" is a guess.
The error message you are referring to is related to the bug posted by
Mario Limonciello which, as it looks like, was already resolved. The
original error is unfortunately unrelated to this error message (see
xorg.log posted by me) and still persists for me.

I can confirm the bug on Dell XPS M1330 and 1530.
The workaround that works for me is to remove pulseaudio from the
system.
I've noticed that after removing puldeaudio alsamixer shows additional
track "Digital" with settings ranging from -30dB to +30dB. Perhaps
puldeaudio sets the "Digit
Confirm suffering same issue with same hardware (HP nx6125). Would be
very nice to fix this regression, Intrepid has otherwise brought some
great improvements to this hardware (like the open source aiglx support)

Thanks. Would you mind adding the contents of ~/.config/menus to a
tar.gz file and then attaching it to this bug report? After you've done
that, you can just delete the actual folder and it should restore your
menu back to it's original state for your user.

The package in intrepid-proposed works here on a Thinkpad X41 tablet, at
least for this morning's classes. (I teach with the Xournal window
maximized but set to 85% zoom, and that combination triggered
redrawing/selection problems every time with the previous Ubuntu
package)
