Thanks. That's interesting actually. Consolekit only lists a single
session on this seat (Seat2?), which is not the active one and is not
local either. This is why you can't authenticate with PolicyKit.
So, there is no bug in PolicyKit here, as it is behaving exactly as

Here's how I can re-create the problem:
1. Make sure multisync and all the libmultisync plugins are installed.
2. Create new profile
3. In the first plugin, chose IrMC. In the options make sure that the
connection type is Bluetooth.
4. In the second plugin, chose Backup. In the options, specify
I'm not able to change the brightness using my FN keys. When I use them I can

Same here! In addition, I get the same error when starting X via startx,
not using gdm or any other login manager! I'm using ion as window
manager. In Xorg.0.log I found the following error message:

After upgrading to Xubuntu 8.10 my system hangs when I try to suspend to RAM
with my WLAN PC-Card plugged in.
Without the card suspend is working fine.
I'm using Kernel 2.6.27-10-generic from the proposed updates.
2.6.27-9-generic fails as well.
The system is a Compaq Arm
Adobe's aware of this and working with Ubuntu (Canonical) to find a more
satisfactory solution.

Ok. It seems, that I've found out what the problem is. Ubuntu 8.10 comes
with 'texinfo' version 4.11. But since I need the latest texinfo
features, I installed version 4.13. 'install-info' is part of the
texinfo distribution. After the installation the new version will be
prefered, since /usr/local
The problem is just the incorrect reporting of no space left. I have
replicated the problem with a number of DVD disks all with plenty of
space left and the result is always the same. And, as I said in the
initial report, it never happened before the most recent update. So it
