options snd_hda_intel model=mbp3
to /etc/modprobe.d/options

I can also confirm this bug. Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS5 onto Western Digital
WD3200AAJS Caviar SE SATA disk. Trying to install Ubuntu Server 8.10.
Install runs ok for me, it's only when trying to boot from the hard disk
for the first time I get these errors. I then get Gave up waiting for
root device

I tried to configure my wired connection as a static ip address with the
gui. It seemed to change the IP address, but I couldn't access the
internet since the scripts didn't add a default route.
I had to hand edit /etc/network/interface from:
auto lo
iface lo inet
I forgot to mention this was with hardy.

Thanks Leann. My mixer settings are attached in the screen shot. I
will attach ALSA settings below. The sound recorder in my screenshot

I stumbled across the same same thing and ended up here but when I
configured a second keyboard layout I discovered something. There is an
option which lets you feedback the sate of your keyboard (i.e. the
current layout) by switching the scroll lock led and this works fine.

Hi,
This is actually correct behavior. The APACHE_RUN_USER variable is set
in /etc/apache2/envvars. If you use apache2ctl instead of apache2, then
you won't get errors. The same is true of the init script.

I have MSI Wind U90x with BisonCam NB Pro. Ubuntu 8.10 UMPC-realease.
On problem It now just shows a blank image while the webcam indicator
light is on. after checks gstreamer-properties, fix error changed the
resolution to 176x144.
The reason, after update software from repositories adjustment
