/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist contains an entry to prevent evbug from
getting loaded. Can you confirm that it's blacklisted somewhere under
/etc/modprobe.d/ on your system? Can you report the results of lsmod
when it gets loaded,

Well, after poking around with aptitude, I see that I have xserver-xorg-
video-intel=2:2.5.1-1ubuntu7 installed, but running aptitude changelog
xserver-xorg-video-intel, I see that 2:2.6.1-1ubuntu1 is the latest
version... this is only available for x86 right now, I am to assume?

This is a problem with keymaps, intrepid changed the rules for xkb.
It is fixed in nx-3.3.0-4, you should update the server to that version.

I installed Hardy Heron on the D600 using the 8.04.1 Live CD, using the
installer's "safe graphics" mode. When Hardy started up, xdpyinfo
reported the screen size to be 291x212 mm, which is nearly correct. The
autogenerated xorg.conf uses the vesa driver. I added DisplaySize to
xorg.conf, and wh
