Me again, I tried all your samples on Ubuntu 8.10 and Inkscape development
revision 20623. All files import fine.
I have testet Guiseppes file A PDF that crashes Inkscape on my inkscape 0.46

I'm running CentOS v5.2 i386 and I had the same problem with Ubuntu 8.04 : to
mount (using NFS) to an exported folder on a CentOS server.
My config:
- A CentOS 5.2 machine the will act as a NFS server with IP of 192.168.1.151. I
disabled the firewall and SELinux on CentOS server .
I can confirm this bug for ubuntu 8.10

I'm fairly sure I haven't, as it's low-end laptop and would probably drive
the performance down too much. Is there an easy way to check?
In Appearance Preferences, Visual Effects is set to 'None', if this is
the correct setting?

Could you test with the last upstream trunk build (http://wiki.awn-
project.org/Installation:Ubuntu#PPA) ? It's seems to have a fix for this
issue (revision 976) but it'll be nice to have a confirmation.

Because I cannot reproduce your symptoms using a laptop and a usb sound
device, I am closing this report. Please reopen if you can reproduce the
symptom in 9.04.

Well, it is not an issue for me any more, since I have replaced DVD
drive cable, and installed proper UDMA cable. That solved the problem in
Hardy, still OK in Interipid.

On a fresh Ubuntu 8.10, I've compiled and successfully installed my
pinnacle PCTV hybrid pro stick (320e), then installed kaffeine and
latest me-tv. As I installed Catalyst drivers soon after, me-tv stopped
working : no display and no sound
