This still doesn't work in Intrepid with kernel 2.6.27-11-generic. It's
been YEARS now.
The problem is a missing JPEG decompressor. It's not needed by ALL ov511
cameras, apparently.
The decompressor source is already available in package ov51x-jpeg-

I just noticed this on a system which I upgraded to Jaunty on 16th
January. I don't have a backup against which to compare, but the
modification time on the file is about 30 minutes after the upgrade
completed (approximately the time I would have rebooted).

How?
( strace file-roller ) > output.txt 2>&1
Generates about 200MB output file, and no mention about unzip.
I'm pretty new to linux...

Hi Daniel,
Just before you posted this I'd had a major system problem and had to
reinstall everything.
When I did, ironically I had sound in Gnome apps but not KDE. I actually
managed to fix it though by opening the pulse audio volume controller
and noticing that the default sound output was goin

There are two parts to this bug.
The actual bug is being caused by "lvm vgscan" opening all block devices
on the system writable and then closing them again, which triggers the
inotify event. There seems to be no reason they cannot be opened
readonly, since the only thing it does is call fstat()
