I can confirm this problem.
The dkms packaging of the kvm module is not correct. It needs some

Can confirmed the original issue has been fixed, iam now installing this

Did spot that it took ages to get past the Local area, I have gone

like the keys sent are correct (I can give you the output, if you need

I doesn't break anymore, with any installed kernel.
However, when it was broken, the problem appeared with all the kernels in
the list (I've tried them all), even with the kernels which were working
well with brightness before the bug.

When I'm using my laptop, the screen will freeze, the system will remain

I did just upgraded to the PPA from your archive and now it's working for me
also.

To help clarify this bug, I use Jaunty on a daily basis. Apparently,
when Jaunty is in use, at some point, the updates have replaced the
Ubuntu 8.10 release notes with firefox release notes. If I do a fresh
install using any ISO image, the release notes are from Ubuntu 8.10.
They do not update

I don't think it is fixed. I got a black screen today with a default
configuration. No framebuffercompression or anything. The logs did not
