the same issue.

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4850 x2 and after installing the fglrx driver with the
restricted driver manager,
the display dosen't work anymore. I really need for the fglrx driver for 3D
accel and because the video card is very noisy (it has 2 coolers on).

I suppose the reason of the crash is that my home partition contains a user
with .ecryptfs directory (intrepid version).
When jaunty installer tries to install ecryptfs-utils (and consequently tries
to remove a previous intrepid version of the package) it fails.

ls -lt /sys/bus/pci/slots does not return anything whether or not the
docking station is plugged in:

I received the same warning today in KDE, exactly as the original poster
noted.
As with the original poster, I found the directions unclear, and had to
use the asoundconf list command, which was not in the warning, to find
out the name of the sound card, and then re-run the command with that
name

I'm not sure whether this is a problem with the xfce panel or xfce panel
configuration dialog.
I am using Xubuntu 9.04 Beta with all updates.
I removed my top panel because I only like a single panel at the top and
then opened the panel settings from the xfce settings manage
