unfortunately yes. I`ve been checking with the Ubuntu forum and quite a
few people have stuttering and jumping sound since they upgraded to
jaunty from intrepid. So far have tried all their ideas but to no
success.

I have edited my dsdt and fixed my errors. It not only solved this bug but
also my laptop now sleeps and wakes up just fine. This fix is worth a try
IMO.

I can confirm the same problem with Jaunty Jackalope for both Evince and
Firefox. Additionally firefox in fullscreen also faces the flickering
problem when you Ctrl+Tab between different browser tabs (in addition to
the Alt+Tab flickering problem).

I just did a fresh install today. I can reproduce this error.
There is no desktop icons. Right click or left drag on the desktop does not
display anything.
When there is a CD in one of my cd drives I can not run nautilus (in the
terminal I get segmentation fault as soon as I run it).

I have the same problem. I fixed this in the python code by
encapsulating the source file in double quotes. This way it passes both
the file check as will as the "dd" command. I no longer have any
trouble writing images that have a space in the path.

Okay, I spake to soon. The rt61 drivers work only for a bit then they
stop responding. Sometimes I have an IP address, sometimes not. Either
way only rebooting fixed it.

I also notice "vbetool post" consuming 100% CPU during resume. See this
bug report for more info on the specific problem, but there's an oops
before vbetool gets run, so vbetool's hangup may be an artifact of

is what is needed and it works perfectly afterwards.

Thank you, I finally have sound back! I removed all the snd-hda-intel
model quirks from all the files I could find in /etc/modprobe.d/* and
rebooted! I tested my sound in the Sound preferences, and it works for
all the sound playback areas.
