This is not a bug, it's a misunderstanding. Notification-properties is
for Notification Daemon. Jaunty ships Notify-OSD by default, which does
not use that applet. You can get back to the old Notification-Daemon by
removing Notify-OSD or by installing and using gnome-stracciatella-
session.

This bug is causing printing using the brother cups drivers to fail on
Tuesdays. I am attaching a sample PostScript file which file 4.21
misidentifies.
4.21-3 seems to be the current version in the Ubuntu repository.

I didn't actually apply these patches directly. I updated mine (0.1.15)
manually. Read the man page of dd. The size of the file that dd creates
is equal to the product of the blocksize and the count. In the 0.1.11
the block size is 1 byte and the count is 'persist' (ie the number of
bytes you wante

I have not found any working ways to resolve this issue short of dual booting.
In a host/client virtualization, the client only has virtualized access to the
hardware that is installed by the host OS and identified by the virtualization
program.
