I am not an expert, but the concept of virtualization is to show a virtual
hardware, with a few components.
And this virtual component can differ from actual component.
So I am not surprised that karmic found no sensor.
You should ask firstly to virtualbox.

'sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart' ? That will work for me! But the
networking will not start automatically. Very annoying since everything

Reinstalling CUPS to restore the pdftops file, and using the "HP
LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS" driver allowed me to print. Of course, some
features that I sometimes use, such as the the punching module, are not
