When using SoundConverter with a remote share trought gvfs, it's failed
with 'access denied' error message print in console. To solve the
problem, we need to initialise the authentication manager with the

just install smbclient .. you can do this in the command window, not
abslotuley sure but I think it is something like:
sudo apt-get install smbclient
Make sure that samba is not loaded when you do this. you need to do a stop
on samba if it is running.
This worked great fro me under Ubuntu 9.04

I can also confirm this error/bug. I have created a couple discs that
are almost 100% according to the disc usage bar, but in reality after
making the disc it's usually around 2GB. Other times I have made a disc
that is around 60% according to the disc usage bar, but these also come
out ~2GB also.
It's possible to use the dev.cdrom.lock=0 setting, a udev rule and
script to make this work correctly. The solution is described on the
Arch wikis here and seems to work fine on my XPS M1330:

Rhythmbox works fine and tests in gstreamer-properties using ALSA and
PulseAudio output also work. It seems no other application has a problem
except Totem. This also affects Firefox though since it uses Totem for
playing mp3.
Maybe there's something else I can do? Wipe out Totem and reinstall it
nice work.

I'm having system hang on trying to unlock screen, after a requested
lock, -probably- only when I miss-enter password. It says checking

I have exactly the same problem with my notebook and my HP PSC 750 printer:
very often the last page of a print job is not finished and released until
several minutes of waiting or until a new print job is started.
This problem occurs with Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04 with the driver HP PSC 750
The problem is that you are using the server variant of the x86 kernel
which has PAE enabled (CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G=y), and GEM doesn't support PAE
quite yet. I see you only have 2GB of ram, you may want to consider
switching to -generic instead altough I have seen PAE support patches
that shouldn't

I have a Python script that fixes up the mess. It shouldn't have any
dependencies other than Python itself. I've only tested with Python 2.6,
but I don't know of any reason 2.5 wouldn't work (before 2.5 the sqlite3
module won't be available).

Final comment: if you have any extra files around in your homedir that
you want moved but which f-spot's database doesn't know about (in my
case .ufraw files) you will have to move them by hand: the script will
abort if you ask it to do something with a file f-spot has no record of.

Recently i installed Jaunty (amd64) on HP 6735s. Turion 64 X2 (2.1 GHz),

Every time I start xchat-gnome, it is not maximised, even though I
maximise the window every time I start the application. While it appears
as a window that fills the whole screen, it is still in the windowed
state, and not properly

The mysql apparmor profiles work fine for me here (Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04).
Please describe what you mean by the profiles being bogus in
considerably more depth. Please be constructive -- suggest imrpovements
to them if you feel they are needed.
