The latest version of Firefox 3.5 has a packaging problem. By default,
firefox-3.5 package tries to install the ubufox package, too, even
though it is only listed as a recommends. The problem is ubufox is
still built specifically for firefox-3.0,

Notice the new volume control has been reintroduced for Karmic Alpha 2,
and the same problem is there, no way to toggle digital audio, although
you can now do it by installing the Pulseaudio Volume Control, it should
still be there in Sound Preferences out of the box.
