Has anyone found a cure for this problem. My Dell Precision M4300
(nVidia) also cannot hold Visual Effects in Extra. It always goes back

The screensaver no longer locks my screen automatically. If I select "lock
screen" from the user switcher applet it does lock, but it never kicks in on
its own. I have configured it so it locks after a relatively short period of
time,
Thanks for following up. It appears that the install modified a file HAL
needed to continue to run, and a reboot was necessary. Closing since
Ubuntu now uses devicekit-power instead of HAL, and a reboot was
necessary to properly boot with the new kernel.

What version of ubuntuone-client-gnome was this with? The stack trace
seems incomplete. Also, what is "/usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0
/libnautilus-hostnameone.so" ? This doesn't seem like Ubuntu One to me.

In one of the upstream bug reports, I was told that the new package
will arrive from debian.
I don't know if that will be done in time for ubuntu 9.10.

OK. I really have no idea how a g_object_unref() could ever result in a
crash in the object's class_init() method... does this still occur? what
version of ubuntuone-client-gnome was installed when this crash
occurred?
