From the ubuntu desktop team's perspective this is okay for me.
It is indeed a common setup to just have cups-client installed and the
server set in /etc/cups/client.conf.
Upstream usually does not recommend this spooler-less operation, but
nevertheless it's possible and works.

Moving the mouse over any pull down or context menu menu leaves a mist
of artifacts behind. The artifacts are 16 pixel wide horizontal lines in
the color the menu selection. Moving the mouse over them clears them or
creates new ones of

3D acceleration even of things like xscreensaver is terribly slow. Attempting
to run World of Warfact through WINE in OpenGL mode yields 5fps frame rates.
This is obviously not a highly capable card, but it does have enough
capabilities to run World of Warcraft and at the
I can confirm this bug running on an ASUS M3N78-VM motherboard with the
Nvidia 8500GT and the standard 180.44 video drivers. Suspend works
fine, resume brings garbled or no video and the usual key commands do
not work.
All versions of Ubuntu so far, plus Fedora 8-11 all have this problem.
