I think forcing the keyboard to act like a Windows one is a bad idea.

Binary package hint: empathy
It can happen that empathy adds a new message in the indicator applet, but it
is not true that the indicated contact sent me a message.
If I click on it empathy freezes for 5-10 seconds, and then unlocks, removing
the new message entry.
