onto theirs old harddisk, lose ability to boot windows and then hate

Network manager has no way of specifying a static ip (because the "auto
eth0" entry will override any specified static ip) so most users are
defaulting back to the standard way of specifying a static ip using
/etc
Well this is just nuts. Whether this is an issue with Karmic, Debian,
TVTime or Pulse Audio - this is a sad shame. A fine app that worked well
on three completely different installs of Intrepid and Jaunty on three

Ok i. have done a bunch of tests over the weekend with this on karmic.
Here is what i was able to to get working:
1 wpa 1 and 2 with both encryption methods at the same time

Another freeze today. The mouse cursor started lagging and then about an
hour X froze. After the freeze I modified my xorg.conf to disable power
management with Option "PM" "Off".

I am using Karmicl, kernel 2.6.31 -15 -generic on my laptop. The time
that takes to transfer files to my USB drives takes almost 20 times more
than it used to take in Jaunty. Sometimes after waiting for a long time
of transfering it will simply give a error message or the file will
simply will not

I added a sensor->meaning mapping to the 5,2 ubuntu Karmic page. My
confidence in it's accuracy is low.
Experimentation on OSX shows that the temperature gets above 90 with no
changes in fan temperature. I don't know if this means everything is
WAD or what.
