The music is stored on a USB memory stick.
When starting up, amarok sees ID3 tags and lists them in the playlist window.

I believe you're suffering from bug 512470. I would suggest installing
the daily firefox package for Lucid and then uninstalling it if you
don't want to have dailies. Otherwise, this should be fixed with the
next release of the package to lucid.

Getting the same as described above on Firefox 3.5.7, causing the system
[P8700 @ 2.53 GHz 2gb ram] to almost come to a standstill. Googled the
problem and this was the first result, so it may be good to reopen this
bug.

I installed mozilla-beagle from synaptic, which pulled in 0.3.9-3ubuntu1.
On the extensions page (In Firefox), I am given the message "Beagle Indexer
1.1.0... Not compatible with Firefox 3.6"
Looks like a similar problem is reported for 9.10, in
