The behaviour I observe may be related:
Firefox doesn't work correctly after resume. The application itself
seems to run but content is not loaded in tabs. Closing and starting
Firefox doesn't help - I need to reboot complete OS.
Sleep and resume works perfectly fine if I close Firefox before sle
Suspend without closing the lid wakes up fine.
But if I suspend the laptop with lid closed, it does not wake up display.
There is some activity when I open the lid, but computer backs to sleep. It
looks like it wakes up when I press the keyboard key, but the display stays
blank dark and powered

GIMP from F-Spot... There's a good chance F-Spot won't import them back
right again.

I am experiencing the same issue, but for me it is not confined to
synaptic, but appears to be many (all?) of the applications that
launches the administrative-privileges application first.
This includes (but may not be limited to):

I installed quickly from lucid repositories (latest version).

Asus EEEPC 900, upgraded to Karmic UNR 2.6.31-19 and now cannot get

The same problem occured with other pdfs before. So I don't think it's
related to a special pdf, although I posted one above, that caused the

Same problem here. Also on a T42. When i resize the pdf view with the
splitter between table of contents on the left and the main view, the
system will freeze and all i can do is to power off and reboot. I'll
attach an pdf causing the problem.
