I am having the same (if not, similar) problem. I have installed Ubuntu
9.10 on a Sony UX-380n Micro PC. The wireless card couldn't even be used

I've determined that liblog-log4perl-perl doesn't seem to actually use
these build-dependencies at build time (no evidence that the test suite
is even being run, let alone that it fails if these modules are absent),
so have uploaded log4perl without them. That leaves just the one

In my fury I had one last go on trying to install the scanner, and now

Seeing the same problem while performing a clean install of Lucid on a
5.0 TB LVM (IBM RAID). As Grub is being installed, it informs the user
that 'You have chosen not to install grub on any device', trying to
go back or replying 'No' to the question 'Do you want to continue
without installing
This doesn't look like a syslog file from a completed installation run;
it only goes up to language selection, right at the start of the
installer.
Any chance you could reproduce this with ubiquity in debug mode? You
can do this by running 'ubiquity -d' in a terminal window; once the
installation
FWIW, reinstalling

I apologize, I was mistaken, karmic 64-bit server uses GRUB2 (1.97) by default
as you said.
That GRUB 0.97 found and shown above must be a vestige from my attempts to get
the system to boot from RAID1.
However I would still like for the install software to have some way to boot
from RAID1, a w

terminal window, and reproduce this problem (just reproducing the first
problem you ran into will be fine - all I need is for you to get to the
point where it says "ubi-partman failed with exit code 141", then exit
the installer)
