Well, since you have the nvidia proprietary driver installed you have to
rely on the nvidia control panel to configure the resolution. The
nvidia driver does not fully support the Xrandr extension so the
standard display config tool can't get the available resolutions out of
it in the usual way.

This still and issue after install. The bottom of movie player and many
other programs are cut-off. I was able to install eeepc tray but this
broke my Fn key bindings. The intel driver utility allowed for scrolling
as a solution, can't this be auto configured in xorg.conf at startup? If
not for som

I can now say for certain that it's not Firefox related as I've had two
"freezes" within an hour when Firefox was not even running.
In the first instance I was using the Terminal and had just run "sudo
grub-install /dev/sda", as soon as I hit the enter key things locked up.

Ah Daniel, I see what is happening now perhaps. First, I had to press F4
in alsamixer to enable all capture options. Once there, for "Input
Source" (there's also "Input Source 1" and "Input Source 2" so that's
slightly confusing), I see the options specified in the enum you pasted,
