Can I also say that I have this problem as well. Using an Acer Aspire
7003 laptop with an Atheros AR2413 wifi card connecting via BT Voyager
2110 wireless router. Using either Ubuntu Karmic or Lucid Beta. Previous

Progress feedback on downloads needs better visualisation
It seems that this problem is not reproducible without splash. I didn't
experience a crash since i removed the splash option from grub.

The ppa now has all the drivers with inputclass configs. Vmmouse uses
the udev rule to add a tag 'vmmouse' that the config then recognizes
with MatchTag.
So after an upgrade from the ppa everything should still just work.
