After the fsck fixes and rebooting, I am unable to copy any file (from
the FAT32 filesystem or even other external drives) to the EXT4
filesystem as it report Input/Output errors.

I encountered this problem with a fresh install of 10.04. I did not
encounter this problem when attempting the same action from the live cd.
