I try to avoid installing any KDE packages because of all the KDE
libraries that get installed with them, as my disk space is limited.

I can confirm that installer boot options are not copied to the
installed system's grub config. I've run "DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer
ubiquity --debug" and I'm attaching /var/log/syslog, /var/log/partman,
and /var/log/installer/debug.
/proc/cmdline is "BOOT_IMAGE=/casper/vmlinuz
file=/cdrom/preseed/ub
That works also for me.

I think I've figured it out - the problem seems to be the theme. I

In gwibber's settings, change the theme from Ubuntu to default. That

Ok, the PC owner brought me the PC because the PSU blew up. I replaced
it and installed Lucid. Unfortunately, I have no wi-fi here to test the
problematic card. I'll bring the PC to a wi-fi enabled place to try the
connection tomorrow. I'll report results here.

I got a similar situation to Philippe DUBRULLE above net-booting an
arch= 386 old laptop diskless, from an AMD64 server, all Lucid.
The client freezes just after it is done with initrd. A friend suggested
pinging the machine continuously, and lo and behold I got 7 responses,
before the whole thing

In that case, how come this inconsistency showed up? I think that I
installed grub1 by mistake (just searched for grub, and grub showed up,
didn't know it was version 1). I think that grub1 shouldn't be available
for Lucid, or just make it install grub-pc.

Whenever I try to suspend my computer it seems to freeze at the last
stages of suspension. I can hear it power down my harddisk and my

Based on dmesg, the chipset in my Linksys WUSB54G is an Intersil Prism
54. The p54 driver loads when I plug in the adpater. This could be
erroneous; I believe I've seen Linux in the past load a compatible
driver with certain devices when the actual driver wasn't available.

Perhaps it's; but I can't test it since no hardware acceleration is
supported by free drivers with my graphic processor, so I can't enable
Compiz in this case. The only I can said is no bug appear with free
drivers with Compiz disabled.

I believe this bug has to do with a am-utils configuration problem on
ubuntu lucid looking for linux/nfs_mount.h. Looking at the fedora
lists, it appears that fc13 may have a similar issue. The problem
appears to be that configure cannot compile its test program for
