Thanks for the detailed response.
The automatic way made no difference so I tried the manual process.
I now have almost all of the required version installed, a sort of
"lucid Maveric".
There is one problem:
I cannot find the module libfbclient2 which is a dependency for the
firebird2.1-

This might not be totally a chromium issue: when compiz is turned on I'm
unable to reproduce with chromium 5.
I've just tried the nightly build (chromium 7) and it half works. I
press F11 to go into full screen, I'm then offered two options to get

This happens to me after quitting rhythmbox even if I'm not playing any
music files. Also, it doesn't disappear from the volume control after
quitting.
