After installing fglrx you need to configure X to use the fglrx ATi
driver:
$ sudo aticonfig --initial
and restart X. (I guess Ubuntu's restricted hardware tool does the same)
It is odd that you still get the error using the open source drivers. At least
the vesa driver does currently work
I solved the problem. Package libclutter-eglx-es20-1.0-0 was installed.
I replaced that package with package libclutter-1.0-0 and now

Had the same problem, then I noticed that instead of
firmware-b43-installer I had to install (manually, via synaptic)
firmware-b43-lpphy-installer. My install is a x64-version via netboot,
i.e. mini.iso. Just the other day when I tried x86 netbook live-cd, it
managed succesfully to automatically

and i get random problem when connecting to my servers using SSH.

I've looked in top, and the freezes seem to coincide with a kslowd000 process
appearing at the top, using 17.5% CPU.
I don't know what kslowd is, or if this is just co-incidence. Is there is a way
to disable this process to prove whether it is the cause?
