I just did a fresh install and hit this problem. I did the fresh
install due to a new SSD disk and did not experience the problem with my
spinning disks with the prior install. (Yes I also have an Nvidia

Is there any way to get old mainline kernels that have been deleted?
The last one I know for sure worked was 10/21, but that's no longer on

I have the same problem. However, I'm able to work around the problem by
unticking the "show_suppressed" option via gconf-editor:
1. Stop evolution and start gconf-editor
2. Navigate to the /apps/evolution/eplugin/prefer_plain folder

I do agree that if the UUID is used on the linux line, the "set root=" line to
the wrong hd2 will not stop the boot.
