actually no.. same issue: when i start the system, only smbd is loaded as
process. when looking at /var/run/samba it is active and populated with no
nmbd PID file. only when I switch to console and run 'sudo start nmbd' that
it loads a process and assigns PID to it.

A known quirk of sshd in other distros is that sshd will refuse to write
to world- or group-readable /var/log/btmp. The fix for this is 'chmod
0600 /var/log/btmp'.
Ubuntu Linux installs /var/log/btmp with permissions 0660 (aka -rw-

With what little knowledge of Linux that I have I'd say you are correct
because when the new sensors appear they do so with default colors as
opposed to the customized ones which are checked off in the box to run.
So does that mean it must be reported as a libsensors bug?

Hi,
I've tried installing the following, but the process just seems to hang,
and I can only kill the apt-get process by closing the terminal (i.e.
CTRL+C doesn't stop it):
jon@black:~$ sudo apt-get install subversion apache2 libapache2-svn
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

I've radon blacklisted through a conf file in modprobe.d directory
Inside a X session I've modprobe radeon. No problem here
Then I've echoed OFF to /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch. No problem here
Radeon card was off according cat

classic repo one because of a bug in the lyrics plugin (I removed and
reinstalled banshee and its extension after removing the ppa software
sources). The player doesn't start,

It looks more like some font problem. I had same issue on my netbook,
but i can't reproduce it now, may be because of installed windows fonts
(dependency for wine)
