I've got the ugly codecs installed. But when I go to open the .pls file
that soma.fm spits out, nothing happens!
If I add it manually and try to listen to the feed, it doesn't work. But
upon trying to listen to it a second time, suddenly it play

Compiz generally only crashes when I run a pyqt gui programme from Python. I'm
just left with the desktop background (with no ability to report the
problem)and have to manually switch off.

This affected my until I turned "force aspect ratio" off. Then, it works
fine, except that the video scales with the window, so it gets stretched
out for the default window size (though it looks good when the waveform
is active).

Do you have ia32-libs installed? If so, try temporarily uninstalling it
and see if the issue can still be reproduced. If not, I might suspect a
conflict between nvidia's glx and the mesa snapshot glx within
ia32-libs.

Although narrowly speaking, adding a Wine category would make things
better, the bigger problem is that the category list seems hardcoded.
Traditional implementations of the freedesktop.org menu spec
looked at the desktop files to see what categories there were.

Perhaps its a BAMF problem? Often some time after this happens unity
will completely freeze and I have to restart gdm from a tty console.
Here's an .xsession-errors file from one of those times. It shows lots
of critical errors from BAMF.

I didn't have this problem with ubuntu 10.04 only 10.10 i cannot access
my university course websites (all of them). I have to wait 5 to 6 min
for them to load after numerous dialog boxes telling me that "the crash
happened outside the virtual machine in native".
